Life is like a tin of sardines---- everyone is just looking for the key to solve the problem…
Problems are just part and parcel of our everyday life; they are actually just like a wild bull. It seems scary and impossible to overcome at first sight, but just stared into the eyes of the problem and it will slink out of sight. A path with no obstacle is a path with a dead end. Our life is full or hurdles and obstacles, as each “Door of Hope” closes upon you another door will open, but sometimes we just dwell too long about the closed door that we fail to be able to see another door.
“Ahem!” a teacher growled at me. Shocked and dismayed as I was I stood rooted to the ground as if a hundred year old tree sinking its roots into the soil. Looking back at the past half an hour, I wondered how all these 30 minutes had landed me in trouble…
“Hey let’s do our science TFU now.” I suggested. So as we were proceeding to the class room to rehearse our science TFU, we stopped at level four and stood by the railing to enjoy the cool breeze of the wind. Ah… How comfortable it was for us as the wind slapped right onto our sweaty faces. “How can you do that? He is your classmate!” a voice rang in our heads. We search high and low for that familiar voice but yet we could not find it, at long last, we found that the voice came from below. An angry teacher was “devouring” his student in his angry speech. Soon we realized that that teacher is actually the teacher that is currently teaching our class!
“Hello.” I crazily said a voice
which is not so loud that the teacher could hear and also not so soft that even when a pin drops it would be louder than what I said. For no reason I just wanted to say hi to that teacher, but my brain had not processed the information telling me that the teacher is angry into my mind. As my friend had heard me saying hi, his natural reaction was to call me to keep quite. But this time his brain, unlike mine, processed too fast, so fast that I think it had not gone through a very important place----- The brain. “Hey remember that foolish geography teacher…!” before he could /’.;;complete his sentence the teacher looked up at my friend and I. (http://sagesiyah.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/angry-teacher.jpg)Maybe not so much of the ‘my friend ‘part, because having a faster processing brain, he immediately moved back. Leaving me alone to be standing rooted to the ground, I stood there like a dummy and I stared at the teacher and he stared at me.I suddenly awoke from my suddenly train of thoughts, the teacher angrily walked off into the shadows of Victoria school’s building. I stood there still, thinking if that was a fortune that the teacher walked away, or a misfortune and the teacher will come back another time to give me a hard time in school…
The next day, as in went backed to class the same teacher I met yesterday , immediately I was called to his table. “Wei Liang, you were happily scolding me yesterday am I correct to say so? Huh? Do you know that if you offend me your life in VS will be miserable? I will make you so miserable that you will never ever come back to VS again!” the teacher scolded me in front of the whole class. “ Sir, are you sure you haven’t even try? Because my life is already miserable because of you.” I spurted out by accident. This made the teacher seriously angry. “ I give you a last chance, either you explain why you were scolding me or you straight away go to Mr Chia’s office!” he screamed!
I gave up my own opportunity to wash me off of all the misdeed that I did not do but was credited to me and also all opportunities to get a scholarship just to help a friend in need, and it was worth it. Although all hope of me getting a scholarship is gone but as a friend of mine I would not leave him in the lurch and let him “ die “ out there. At least I learnt how to send a smiley face with a tongue sticking out from a side from Mr Chia!( Quite worth it)

Walking in a school haunted by the Victorian Spirit….
Have you ever faced your fears like a man? Or just like a coward, hiding in your own shadow of fear? Being a natural instinct, fear terrorizes every man, woman and children. Although it is inevitable to totally eliminate it, but how many of you have actually stand up face to face, telling your fears to shut up and to listen to your brain just for once? I bet not many of those dare devils have put their heart and soul into trying this. But even so to those who can control their fear and not let fear control you, beware, fear is like a monster lurking deep in the depths of your very mind, awaiting the chance just to come out and destroy you…
I dare not say I am able to control my fears, but maybe one of the more composed one? Or not, maybe I just seem brave (I am not). Even so, no matter how I control my fear it still able to come out, or even come out and “attack” the person beside you.( Later on I would talk about how it attacks the person beside me)
It was the last day at my badminton camp, the seniors who were by nature evil, wanted to just scare us a little bit. Thus from scaring us a little bit it became scaring like there is no tomorrow. The “Evil Seniors”(just a code name we gave them) had arranged a night walk in Victoria. But before any of the scaring, they wanted to get us prepared (That was what they said) us for the night walk by letting us watch some horror movie.
“ Haha! That’s so funny!” I laughed uncontrollably at the horror movie. Even I was appalled at my own actions. Laughing at a horror movie? You may ask that, it was because I had already watched it before and watching it for the second time made it actually very funny!
Ok fun was over, now this is where the real terror begins. Looking up, I saw an aureole glinted round the slivery moon which was suspended in the velvety night sky, and the moon seemed as if it was saying “Meet your doomsday…”
We were dispatched in pairs group by group into the eerie wilderness of darkness. I was had to pair with let’s just call him Mr. Actor. Ok I have to confess that I do not really like him, but at this time when I am already shivering from head to toe I could not care much.
Off we went with our miserable light stick which seemed as if it would just stop glowing in a second. At first we were totally clueless about which direction to go in pitch darkness, then we spotted a light stick and started follow the trail of light stick.( I would just explain more about the more interesting parts or else it would be too long.)
(The image above has been taken from http://ixwebhostwarning.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/shocked.jpg)So one of our pit stop was at the spiral staircase, we went up the staircase step by step fearing for anymore scare attacks by our senior( we had enough experiences before, but here are the funny ones). Then at the top of one flight of stairs we saw our senior. Delightful as we were, we asked him for directions but he did not raise his head and a baby’s voice rang in our head. Terrified we stood rooted to the ground then we realize that it came from his phone.( False alarm)
We continued our journey up another flight and we started doing things instructed. But we were still short of a pen, we went up and saw another senior standing back facing us. As we asked for a pen he turned around and placed his face near mine, I was shocked, but I replied it with a hi. After the senior had his fun he gave us the pen (here is the funny part). As we were writing our senior threw his slippers down and bang! Mr. Actor was already fleeing for his life down the stairs. I instructed him to come back and we continued writing. Slam! Another slipper dropped down, again Mr. Actor ran down, but now faster, he was already downstairs before I could turn around! I kept wondering why during badminton training he doesn’t run so fast? Then again he was up, and now slam! Again something was thrown down, this it is was as Fuji Apple water bottle. This time Mr. Actor was smart and also furious, he ran up and used the bottle to whack the senior!
“OI! Very pain!” The senior screamed! Haha, although I, sadly, had missed the whole process but I was still laughing like no tomorrow!
Then we proceed to the next station, the toilet outside the dentist, was rumored to be haunted. We proceed into the toilet and opened the door which let out a screech. We move in small paces towards the cubical which is open. Bang! There was a loud noise, I turned to check and I realize Mr. Actor was already outside the toilet. “You stepped on the dustbin! “ I shouted out to him as he had thought there was something dirty inside.
Then we continued to
find the mahjong paper which we supposed to write our names on, suddenly out of nowhere a hand reached out and grabbed my legs! Aah! Aah! I screamed! Eh? Wait I thought I was the one screaming? Then I turned around, actually it was not me! It was my partner! Haha, this is how fear would attack the person beside you. My legs were grabbed by some mysterious hands yet there Mr Actor was screaming away whereas I looked at him in surprise. “ What are you screaming for? My legs are grabbed not yours! Hello? Don’t try to tell me you are screaming for me?” I questioned. Then there was uproar of laughter, the seniors in the opposite cubical burst into laughter! Mr. Actor was so embarrassed that he quickly signed on the paper and ran out.
Haha, the scary night walk actually turned out to be quite a fun one! From that day on, I did not learn to should stand up and face our own fears, instead I learnt that one should never ever stand up for someone and face someone else’s fear( especially don’t scream for others.)
But adding to the fun part, there was also a scary part, there was also something else I saw…
It was a white figure stand right in the middle of the field…( The picture on the left has been taken from http://divyanovel.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/terrified-expression.jpg)

Nice post, it is quite funny and scary at the same time. I pity that you have such "evil seniors". I look forward to reading more.

Blood is thicker than water…
In our progressive society, many at a time we will tend to overexert our self and proceed too fast. But at these times when you are down and at the abyss of your life, only your family would save you, care for you and love you. Nothing would beat having just a day off our manic like life and have a break, a pit stop just to gather with your family and enjoy the tinge of happiness that you will feel when you are with the people you love the most.
This is part of my life, my home sweet home…
Today is my cousin’s birthday, coming together as a family and spreading our loves to one another. We intended to give our cousin a big surprise. Being a Saturday, obviously she was at home (this hindered our process in decorating the place), my brother, mother and I went to my cousin’s place on the pretext that I just wanted to play their Wii and not to wish her happy birthday(of course I really wanted to play the Wii!)
At our arrival, we purposely just merely wished a monotone happy birthday and did not even give her a birthday present. Looking at her dejected face we knew our plan worked!( Evil plan but still very wonderful!) Then to prevent her from seeing through our plans we forced her to go out with friends to maybe watch a movie.
Once the “target” is out of range we can get on to business.
First of all we had to arrange our decorations. “Here, here, here and here…. Hmm or maybe not. How about there?” I asked, we were frustrated when we had to find a suitable spot to place our cute photo of a Mickey Mouse. We all worked our hearts out like worker ants going up and down the big terrace house. We moved the chairs and sofa down to the basement so that we had enough room to scare my cousin and also to play the Wii.
After that we all started spring cleaning, we cleared all our tidbits on the table and replaced them with flowers. Next we took out our killer weapon, our brooms and mops! Within minutes all the germs were exterminated. For our finishing touch, we sprinkle flowers all around the floor to give a very welcoming sense and also so give out a sweet flowery smell.
Lastly, to complete or decoration and preparations we had to just bake a cake. Being very bonded together, we decided to bake our own cake and not to buy one. It is only now when we ‘inject’ the cake with our tender loving care which makes the sweet extra sweet and a sense of family love. Inexperienced in baking cake as we were, we followed my home economics textbook. Never had I expected that this home economics would be my life buoy. Sugar, butter, egg and flour, in no time all the ingredients were added in and now all we had to do was to wait. Looking proudly at our “growing child” in the oven we had a great sense of achievement. Psss…. As we open the oven the sweet smelling smell of the vanilla we had added before came piercing through my nose (we
almost fainted, ha ha).Screech… the door knob turned.
“The Target” has been spotted! We quickly went into action, we turned off the lights and pretended that no one was at home. In total pitch darkness, none could contact with anyone and also unable to see each other. Once my cousin had turned on the light we sprang into action! “Happy Birthday Kevina!” We all jumped out of our hiding place and shouted so loudly that even the neighbors nearby almost came over to complain!
Tears of anxiety and happiness came rolling down my cousin’s eyes, it was truly the tears of family love. Thinking we all had forgotten about her, she never had expected that we had actually already installed a surprise for her!
No sooner we already installed the Wii, off we go playing our hearts out on the guitar, drum and microphone. As professional as we seemed we had no prior experiences in playing these instruments. We had a time of our life trying to form our very own garage band! We named ourselves the Lim Brother Band! Strumming our life away on the guitar and slamming down on the drum as if we were on drugs! Each of us had different strengths; I personally was exceptionally good at the drums! I was given a nickname “God of Drums”, I was getting almost 99% for all my beats!
The time for cutting the cake had arrived! Soon the cake was served to everyone and we were all drenched in sweat from head to toe. Immediately we munched down on the cake which seemed so small as compared to our humongous appetite. “Oh no! I think we had added salt to the cake instead of sugar!” I said. After a moment of silence( I think it was to process the thought about having a salty cake) came a uproar of laughter! We had been so detailed and delicate in doing all the preparations and at the most minor thing we had let our guards down! Haha, we are so foolish! Even so, when we eat such a salty cake, we still feel a tinge of sweetness lurking in the depths of our heart!

This is my home sweet home!

Just to relax!
For me whenever I have some personal time, I would sit beside my dog and grumble out all the dislikes in life and also play with it. Though it doesn’t understand but it just lend me it’s ear.
“ Come Kiki come” I would often call. I would usually call her to sit right beside me and I would grumble away about everything. She is my only personal time, and also the only person or animal I could confide in. The most enjoyable part is that Kiki always seemed to understand me and she would also understand what I am talking about. She would sometimes cry out with me and also for me. When I say cry I mean it, ha-ha, my dog is really able to cry! Real tears flow down and I would be real touched.
Other than just her comforting me, I would also play with her when I am alone. I would often throw a ball for her to fetch or even sometimes she throws a ball for me to fetch! She would just swing the ball up and wants me to catch it for her! Incredible right? Sometimes we also do play games like hide and seek and “catching”. Usually in hide and seek I would hide in the cupboard and await her arriva
l, she would find me within lightning speed!Last but not the least, I would always give her some “Training”. I would teach her some tricks each time and reward her with a snack. Ha and did I mention that actually Kiki is actually very “snack grubbing” ( not really money grubbing) without a snack she would not even perform a trick for you. There was a time when the “snack grubbing” Kiki had performed a trick because I had tricked her into believing that I had some snacks on my hand, looking at the “ black face” of Kiki I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. But due to my laughter Kiki became so angry till she bit my finger! Ouch I still could remember the pain! I wouldn’t say that bite was all pain, but it is actually consisting of 10% pain, 45% happiness and 45% love between me and Kiki!
Kiki I will always love you!

The day started like any others, the word ‘boredom’ I believe explains my feeling best. This day there was no ‘Majestic ball of fire’ or ‘an azure blue sky being the background for passing clouds’. The day was normal yet abnormal, at the bottom of my heart I felt uneasy. I felt as if the normally beating down on me mercilessly sun would suddenly rest for a day and give me some cool weather. Or the usually “evil” birds which sang horribly whole day long just to irritate me would give me some soothing music just on the account that some worst would happen on me.
So I spent the rest of my not so fun part of the day with my cousins at Down Town East, the “fun” of splashing water or ‘defeating’ the “U Slide” cannot be compared to what I experienced next.
Tired as we were we wait at the bus stop and we were willing to flag down any bus as we were desperately wishing to get home. We were all on the verge of collapsing down like a demolishing building as we where tired to the core. Soon a random bus came and we board without knowing the bus number and hoping it led us home. But here let me tell u no matter how ordinary the bus looked like, it wasn’t!
Soon we started to notices that the number of passengers started to decrease and the creepy part was that all the passengers were not Singaporeans! “Undaunted” by these facts we did not bother further. “ I thought we should be back at home like 45 minutes ago? Where are we?” my aunt’s voice broke the eerie silence. “ We should have taken bus 250!( which actually means a taxi as the taxi’s starting fare is 2.50)” my cousin rebutted.
Screech! The bus came to an abrupt but absolute stop! The huge jerk cost my fast asleep younger cousin to wake up. “Reached yet?” she asked. “I don’t think so” I replied uneasily.
Suddenly a person in grey uniform came up, “Pass!”she groaned. Unknowingly we took out or bus passes and flashed it. “Is this some kind of joke!” she started to growl, “ This is the immigration custom!” ‘I do not have a pass and I am seriously shocked’ could be deciphered from our faces. We stared blankly at the custom officer and she stared backed at us with her soul piercing eyes as if telling us to “Get lost!” HA! Now we were chased out of a bus! What a disgrace, getting chased out of a bus!
We stood at the bus stop dumbstruck, staring at the crescent moon suspended in the velvety
sky as if look down onto us with a sly look and saying “Ha-ha you foolish bunch of people!”
